Efficiency Investment and Curtailment Action

چکیده

Abstract Households’ energy-saving activities are often categorized into efficiency investment and curtailment action, which previous studies have analyzed separately, even though households use both activity types simultaneously. In this study, we develop an model based on a household production framework to show how these two related. Our predicts that uses energy action jointly not alternatively. Specifically, invests heavily in spends more time . empirical analysis micro-level data from the Survey Carbon Dioxide Emissions Households Japan examine validity of prediction real-world setting. We compare intensities actions by keep using old appliances beyond appropriate replacement period with those within cycle. results reveal former households, do invest adequately, less engaged than latter adequately. Therefore, support theoretical prediction.

Profitability, investment, and efficiency wages

We examine a model that blends the neoclassical theory of investment with an intertemporal efficiency wage model with turnover costs. Investment decisions in capital are associated with the allocation of labor and the determination of efficiency wages. The model relates Tobin’s q to efficiency wages and, in particular, to the Solow condition. It provides a general framework to analyze firm’s in...

Securitization and Aggregate Investment Efficiency

This paper studies the efficiency of competitive equilibria in economies where the expansion of investment is facilitated by securitization. We show that the use of securitization is generally associated with constrained inefficient aggregate investment, thereby justifying regulatory intervention in markets for securitized assets. We examine the effectiveness of three policy instruments to addr...

Curtailment and Stochastic Curtailment to Shorten the CES

The Center for Epidemiologic Studies–Depression (CES-D) scale is a well-known self-report instrument that is used to measure depressive symptomatology. Respondents who take the fulllength version of the CES-D are administered a total of 20 items. This article investigates the use of curtailment and stochastic curtailment (SC), two sequential analysis methods that have recently been proposed for...

Action Investment Energy Games

We introduce the formalism of action investment energy games where we study the trade-off between investments limited by given budgets and resource constrained (energy) behavior of the underlying system. More specifically, we consider energy games extended with costs of enabling actions and fixed budgets for each player. We ask the question whether for any Player 2 investment there exists a Pla...

The Efficiency of Investment Information

We investigate how the description of a correlated information V improves the investment in the stock market X . The objective is to maximize the growth rate of wealth in repeated investments. We find a single-letter characterization of the incremental growth rate (R), the maximum increase in growth rate when V is described to the investor at rate R. The incremental growth rate specialized to t...
